STAFF PROFILE - LEAD SPANISH (& PORTUGUESE) TEACHER

Ana Sliwka

“I HAVE A DEEP PASSION FOR EDUCATION.”

I have a Law degree and I am also qualified to teach Spanish as a Foreign Language. This year I completed my iPGCE. I've taught Spanish at different levels in Brazil and also had the opportunity to teach Art. After 3 years in the Brazilian Amazon, I moved to Poland and taught Spanish for 6 years. I also led the MFL department for three years with my main focus being IGCSE and A Level. I am looking forward to this new chapter of my career, which will be teaching Portuguese for the first time - a life long dream of mine!

Although my professional journey initially began in the legal field, I always say that the teaching profession chose me. My true calling revealed itself when I began teaching Spanish in Brazil. That life-changing experience completely shifted my path, sparking a deep passion for education that inspired me to pursue formal qualifications and dedicate my career to inspiring young minds.

What I enjoy most about being a teacher is that no two days are ever the same and everyday I learn something new from my students.

Outside of school, I like learning new languages and traveling to explore new places, culture and gastronomy. I also love coffee and reading, which I consider the perfect way to travel!
