“AT EACH STAGE MY PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY HAS BEEN SHAPED BY A COMMITMENT TO ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE, CULTURAL EXCHANGE, AND A PASSION FOR HELPING STUDENTS UNDERSTAND THE COMPLEX, INTERCONNECTED AND BEAUTIFUL WORLD WE LIVE IN”
I feel incredibly privileged to have worked in education for the last 16 years with teaching experience across a diverse range of international settings from the United Kingdom to Taiwan, Bahrain, and the Falkland Islands. At each stage my professional journey has been shaped by a commitment to academic excellence, cultural exchange, and a passion for helping students understand the complex, interconnected and beautiful world we live in.
I hold a degree in Geography from the University of Plymouth, this dynamic course in both human and physical Geography laid a strong foundation for my career in education. Over the years, I have developed a broad understanding of various curricula and adapted my teaching to suit the needs of international and local students alike. Working in different educational cultures has enriched my teaching style and deepened my appreciation for global perspectives.
My inspiration to pursue teaching came from a desire to make learning meaningful and engaging. Geography, as a subject, offers a unique lens through which we can explore real-world issues - climate change, migration, urban development and I have always believed in the power of education to empower students to become thoughtful, informed global citizens.
What I enjoy most about being a teacher is the opportunity to inspire curiosity and critical thinking. Whether it is guiding students through a case study or leading fieldwork, I find great satisfaction in helping young people discover connections between their lives and the wider world. Watching students grow in confidence and understanding is incredibly rewarding and continues to motivate me every day.
