STAFF PROFILE - PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER

Lisa Jones

“I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING, THEREFORE THE MORE YOU DO, THE MORE YOU CAN DO AND LEARNING ANYTHING IS AN EXTREMELY EXCITING AND POWERFUL JOURNEY”

My teaching career began immediately after graduating from The University of Chester in 2009, driven by a strong belief in the power of sport and physical activity to transform lives. I spent nine years teaching at a private school in the UK and most recently eight years at a British International School in Spain.

My inspiration to become a teacher came from my own experiences. The guidance and encouragement I received from my teachers made a lasting impression on me. I knew early on that I wanted to provide that same inspiration and mentorship to others. What I enjoy most about being a PE teacher is seeing students grow - physically, mentally, and socially - through active participation and teamwork. Those moments of progress and confidence-building are why I love what I do.

I strongly believe that attitude is everything, therefore the more you do, the more you can do and learning anything is an extremely exciting and powerful journey. Every lesson I strive to create a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment where every student feels empowered to succeed. Moreover, providing them with adequate time for reflection allows students to recognise and be proud of their progress and achievements. Thus contributing to increasing every student's sense of self efficacy.

ABOUT MS JONES

Outside of school I love a physical challenge whether it be open water swimming, running considerable distances or playing racket sports. In the winter, I am eager to put skis on and seek out the world's snowy mountains.
