STAFF PROFILE - TEACHER

“ I AM A STRONG ADVOCATE FOR LEARNING THROUGH PLAY, AND I BELIEVE THAT THE FOUNDATION OF A LIFELONG LOVE OF LEARNING BEGINS IN THESE EARLY STAGES. I ADORE EXPLORING IMAGINATIVE WORLDS AND GOING ON ADVENTURES WITH THE CHILDREN.”
I am thrilled to be joining the British School of Lisbon as an Early Years Teacher. I am an Early Years specialist, having trained at Leeds Beckett University in the UK, and I am passionate about creating nurturing, play-based learning environments where children feel safe, happy, and inspired.
Working in Early Years is truly where my heart lies. I am a strong advocate for learning through play, and I believe that the foundation of a lifelong love of learning begins in these early stages. I adore exploring imaginative worlds and going on adventures with the children and there is nothing more magical than witnessing those "aha" moments, whether it is a child writing their name for the first time, sounding out their first word or making their first school friends. It is a genuine honour to be part of so many young children's Early Years journey.
Before specialising in Early Years education, I worked as a Performing Arts teacher - another great passion of mine. I love all things creative, from going to the theatre and watching live music to singing, dancing, and even experimenting with stage makeup (which definitely comes in handy on World Book Day!). I love bringing this creative energy into the classroom and am always finding fun and imaginative ways to make learning come to life - through music, role-play, storytelling, and art-based activities. I believe creativity helps children grow in confidence, express themselves, and most importantly, have fun while learning!
